In the Victron Energy Cyrix-Li-Ct battery combiner, the first step of protection of the battery is cell balancing. The second step is shut down in case of cell under voltage. The second step can also include shut down or reduction of the charging current in case of high or low temperature. 

The Cyrix will parallel connect a lead acid starter battery and a LiFePO4 battery:

  • If the charge disconnect output of the VE.Bus BMS is high, and if it senses 13.4V or more on one of its power terminals. 

The Cyrix will disengage immediately:

  • When it's control output becomes free floating, signaling cell over voltage or cell over temperature, and/or when the battery voltage drops below 13.2V. 

Cyrix 12V system with 120A:
